Katherine Huskie, 1987 United Kingdom

Huskie has been working with glass for over 10 years. Having started experimenting with glass at college she subsequently went to the University of Sunderland where she studied for a BA (Hons) in Glass and Ceramics. Huskie specialised in blown glass early on and since then it has become her passion. Glass blowing has taken Huskie all over the world including a year based in Australia where she worked with numerous different glass makers to expand and broaden her knowledge. The experience provided Huskie with the passion and determination to push her own glass designs. On returning to the UK she set up Devereux & Huskie Glassworks with James Devereux. Huskie has always been interested in pattern wether it is within in nature, textiles or geometry. She is always searching for new influences and how she can include the patterns in hot glass.

Huskie has recently been named as Wimbledon Championship Artist 2018 alongside Nancy Sutcliffe. They will collaborate to create 2 large scale glass works that will be displayed within the clubhouse.
