Venini Spring Summer Collection 2013

Vessel Gallery are thrilled to be hosting the launch of the renowned Murano company Venini’s Spring and Summer collections for 2013. Also exhibited will be re-edited master pieces from 1932-1947 by Carlo Scarpa following the great success of the Carlo Scarpa exhibition at Le Stanze del Vetro c/o Fondazione Cini in Venice. These masterpieces emphasizes the working techniques pioneered by Scarpa in the world of glass. An absolute must see for the finest contemporary glass, this is the largest ever display shown in London.

Pin bowl by Tavs Jørgensen

For many years these bowls remained an illusive conceptual project for Jørgensen. Having finally perfected his ‘Reconfigurable Pin Tooling’ technique, there is now a striking finished item. Employing such an extreme working method, the glass is manipulated with exacting precision. The end result is a highly contrasted object from the soft, flowing internal surface to the peaked exterior, on which these perch, elegantly raising upwards.

New Oiva Toikka Birds

The latest additions to the addictive Oiva Toikka Bird Collection for iittala see some elegant new arrivals. This years annual bird is the sublime Mistle Thrush. We are also thrilled to have some of it’s limited edition counter part, of the 220 created globally only 12 will take roost in the UK. Lastly, is the mischievous looking Sooty Owl. Oiva Toikka may be in his twilight years but with such a charasmatic face – taken directly from one of Toikka’s drawings – it’s a perfect reminder that a little fun is always the best way to stay young at heart.
