Vessel, the authority on contemporary tableware, is delighted
to invite you to take
a step back and sit down for tea. For the first time in its six
year history, Vessel will be serving tea and cakes in store for
its customers during a week long celebration in close collaboration
with Wedgwood.
The time has come to reappraise a task that has become a humdrum
routine and restore
it to the indulgently high level it deserves. Whom better with
which to do this then Wedgwood, England’s finest china company,
founded in 1759 and experiencing
a propitious rebirth under the new direction of Georgina Godley.
Long forgotten gems from the Wedgwood back catalogue have been
discovered and
reissued to celebrate that most English of inventions, tea time.
From the extravagantly luxurious Epergne (£2999), an ornate
centrepiece bedecked with ceramic baskets overflowing with sweets & treats,
to the humble butter pat, reshaped into whimsical shapes straight
from the card deck (£30 for 4), there is something for everyone
to enjoy and add an element of decadence to their life.
From the Henley range, exquisite yet affordable silver tea pots
(£100), cake slices and pastry tongs will be unveiled, as
well as intricately made fluted and latticed plates (£25
- £50), all complemented by the historical romantic Queen’s
Ware plate service, which earned Wedgwood it’s first royal
seal of approval from Queen Charlotte, yet is still utterly relevant
today.
Come and take the time for the sweetest part of the day, in the
most expert pair of hands. |
