Wedgwood has an unparalleled heritage. Founded
in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood, the visionary inventor known as the
'Father of the English Potters', Josiah lead the meteoric rise
of Staffordshire potteries in the second half of the 18th century.
Josiah perfected the renowned cream ware formula of clay securing
the patronage of Queen Charlotte and wittily appointing himself
'Potter to Her Majesty and Vase Maker to the Universe'.
The gentle flutes and scallops of this range, coupled with its
signature cream colour, make for a sumptuous table, and the soup
cup and saucer is a particular delight. This really does take us
back to the days of fine dining at home, a million miles away from
tv dinners eaten on laps, yet with its soft and subtle finish it
escapes being overly grand, heavy or pretentious.
