Royal Icing

Indulge in Royal Icing and bring a taste of unashamed romance to the table.

Inspired by original eighteenth-century designs, the Royal Icing range includes a huge variety of ornate and decorative tableware, which harks back to the charm and tradition of the past.

Who could resist the romance of Royal Icing’s flower place card holders? Four different English flowers – rose, poppy, wild rose and anemone – have been beautifully modelled in white, unglazed china, cleverly designed so that a place card can be held by the petals. Delicate as real blooms, each stamen has been carefully recreated to bring a breath of spring to the tabletop.

The same nostalgic charm is evident everywhere: in the pretty, lacy design of the ‘Frill’ plates, with their textured and scalloped borders; the sauce boat, modelled on the organic shape of a shell; the pierced and lattice plates, reminiscent of fine lace.

The eighteenth century passion for gaming is acknowledged with a range of whimsical miniature butter pats in the shape of hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs.

Encapsulating the spirit of the range is the magnificent, elaborate épergne, modeled on an original Wedgwood design dating back to 1770.

This ornate table centrepiece has hitherto been reserved for special commissions and adorns some of the grandest tables in the world. Standing 58 cm high, it is topped with a finely modelled pineapple - the ultimate symbol of luxurious hospitality in Josiah Wedgwood’s day. Hanging from its ornate leaves are a collection of pierced, latticed and ribbed earthenware baskets designed to carry sweets or, for a spectacular display, pots of scented flowers.

The range is completed by a selection of accessories for dining in the grand manner. Elegant tiered cake plates are decorated with frills as though covered with fine linen.

A jasper pie dish is swagged with garlands, while a stone jelly mould is adorned with a beautifully cut basket of fruits and flowers. A variety of ornate jugs complete the gorgeous picture.

Rich, white and sweet, Royal Icing is the perfect topping for any table.
