‘Out Of The Blue' is a unique glass sculptural vessel by the British artist, Sarah Wiberley. Handblown from layers of colour, the precise patterns shown are created by masking and sandblasting different areas, with each configuration revealing a different section and colour combination. 

Created as part of their 'It's Complicated Collection', this work is best explained by the artist:

"Our emotions tint the way we see the world. Our perceptions are marred by their inevitable presence. From a bolt out of the blue to the green-eyed monster, rose-tinted glasses to seeing red; these tints have different hues.

Some feelings are spikey & raw, stabbing & immediate. Others have a slow, gradual fade, barely detectable until their absence is felt.

Surprise, shock; immediately felt but short lived. Expect the unexpected. There is no malice in its intention, only change. Surprise fades rapidly into itself, leaving us back where we started. A bolt Out Of The Blue."
