Glass Couture by Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert

May 9th - June 30th 2012

Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert has been working on large scale glass blowing for over a decade and Vessel is proud to present his first solo show in the UK. He creates incredibly large and complex filigree pieces ‘Spirit Fruits’ that require the highest degree of skill to make, yet they are spontaneous, free and explosive at the same time.

When Wintrebert is creating his large scale works, the spectacle is so amazing that it draws a huge audience from the surrounding area. His work often echoes the feeling of billowing textiles on the brink of collapse and the pieces combine both power and frailty. On show will also be his monumental light installation ‘Clouds’ and a selection of new works titled ‘Void’ never shown in the UK before.
