'Cast & Carved Still Life I' is a unique artwork by the British artist, Simon Moore.

Art works within this collection range from 60 to 80cm high

Standing glass sculptures composed from various cast, cut and battuto* finish glass pieces. Cast glass has been molten, reheated and hand sculpted to shape before finished off on a diamond grinding wheel. Mounted on a glass base.

(*Battuto: This is a type of glass where the surface has a homogeneous set of grindings applied to the surface which can be variable in depth, slightly irregular, created as an imitation of hammered branches)

With numerous notable achievements, Moore in 1999 was the creative director of Salviati in Murano, making him the only person outside of Italy to hold this position. He has been the design director of Dartington Crystal in the UK. His significant international reputation has resulted in consultation roles for companies such as Bombay Sapphire and Nicole Farhi. Moore has tutored at the Royal College of Art and has work on display in the Victoria & Albert Museum.
