'Floral Composition in Black and Gold I' is a unique glass sculpture by the British artist, Elliot Walker. It has been created as part of his ongoing still life series of artworks. 

Inspired by the lavish oil paintings created during the Dutch Golden Age, these compositions ingeniously employ Venetian chandelier techniques within their construction. The glass elements have been blown to allow each one to slide over long stainless steel fittings, that act both aesthetically (where seen) and mechanically, as a stem. 

The artwork is shipped as separate components and will need placing together to create the final artwork as seen.

Combining exceptional glass making skills with a novelist’s ability for storytelling, Walker literally sculpts his glass, creating artworks that are the essence of curiosity. His still life compositions contain symbols of the domestic; fruits, flowers and delicacies. Yet, unlike their transient counterparts, these will never decay and are held permanently in this fleeting moment.
